I absolutely adore newborn babies. It’s part of the reason that I became a labor and delivery nurse and probably why I have three children five years old and under.
They are a true gift and such a blessing in each family.
Miss K is no exception. She did wonderful for her first portrait session! I was in awe at how laid back and happy she was (she really made my job easy!). She was such a delight and precious! Thank you B Family for having me over to capture her during this special time. Since I haven’t posted a sneak peek in a week or so I’m going to make a sneak peek spectacle of myself here!

And how can I not post this picture?!? The headband was a gift to Mrs. B from her sister…oh yeah baby!

I saw these ADORABLE plate holders while shopping in Fredericksburg and bought several for my home. Although, I had a different idea…other then displaying plates as they are made to. Instead, I printed a few 8×10’s portraits of my boys in the 2mm styrene (that all SKP prints 11×14 and higher are printed on). I placed the sturdy portrait on the plate holder and voila – instant cuteness! Here is a link for some cute plate holders if you’d like to purchase your own!

Don’t forget…SunKissed Photography does have a referral program! I usually send these cute little cards (with my business cards in the middle) to clients with a thank you note after they’ve completed their order. But just in case it’s slipped your mind, here it is again as a reminder. If you’re a client and refer someone to have their portraits taken by SKP then you both will receive 30% off your next session! Yep. You both win! What a deal huh?!

1) Just as a heads up…I am booked to June 2010 – except for one spot left in May and one spot left in April. There will be limited appointments for the summer (mainly July and August) due to several vacations we plan on taking. If you want to book a session with SunKissed Photography please email me at info@sunkissedphotos.com - thanks to all of the wonderful clients for booking early!
2) I am planning a Spring Fundraiser Mini Session. It will more then likely be held in April (later in the month). As soon as the location is finalized I will post on here to start filling up the time slots. It will be held in the north west part of Harris County…possibly in Waller County.
3) I’ve had several requests/inquiries regarding blue bonnet or beach mini sessions. I don’t usually do these type of sessions, but I’m thinking maybe the summer Mini Session Charity Fundraiser will be a beach setting. Again, keep your eyes out for further updates on this!
4) This has been a busy couple of weeks for us (why the lack of sneak peeks lately). My sister in law was just recently married (congrats Michelle and Juan!!) and my oldest son, A, is going to be competing in the Paint Horse Lead Line Show in the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo (*squeeeee*). We’ve been practicing and getting him ready for the show (his show outfit is sooooo cute!). If anyone is at the Rodeo on March 18th head over to the Horse Show to cheer him on!

What a winter season it has been for us! Usually we get snow once a decade or so, but this season has blessed us with precious snow flakes several times. No complaints here! This time I was prepared with my camera to snap some shots (I wasn’t as fortunate the last few times). Here is my oldest son, A, outside having a good time watching the snow fall.
And yes, that is my youngest son (Z) watching us from inside the house. He was hospitalized not too long ago with a bad case of RSV, so he couldn’t go outside. That doesn’t stop him from smiling though!

I can’t believe it’s only been five months since I have seen this big boy! He has grown so much! We did his one year birthday portraits in my natural light studio with balloons and cupcakes…what more could he ask for?!

For my first baby girl newborn portrait session of the year I was very grateful and excited to have Miss Baby A. She was perfect! A sweet, sleeping, precious angel…who looks just like her mother! Thank you M Family for having me over to your beautiful home and congrats again on your sweet baby girl!
*Beautiful head bands made by Kristen Caldwell…check her stuff out!*

Hope everyone has a wonderful Valentines today! Here are some interesting facts about the day and love (brought to you by The History Channel):
Research reveals that more than half of the U.S. population celebrates Valentine’s Day by purchasing a greeting card. (Source: Hallmark research)
188 million Valentine’s Day cards are exchanged annually, making Valentine’s Day the second-most popular greeting-card-giving occasion. (This total excludes packaged kids valentines for classroom exchanges.) (Source: Hallmark research)
Approximately 85 percent of all valentines are purchased by women. In addition to the United States, Valentine’s Day is celebrated in Canada, Mexico, the United Kingdom, France, and Australia.
Valentine greetings were popular as far back as the Middle Ages (written Valentine’s didn’t begin to appear until after 1400), and the oldest known Valentine card is on display at the British Museum. The first commercial Valentine’s Day greeting cards produced in the U.S. were created in the 1840s by Esther A. Howland. Howland, known as the Mother of the Valentine, made elaborate creations with real lace, ribbons and colorful pictures known as “scrap”.
There are 119 single men (i.e., never married, widowed or divorced) who are in their 20s for every 100 single women of the same ages.
904: The number of dating service establishments nationwide as of 2002. These establishments, which include Internet dating services, employed nearly 4,300 people and pulled in $489 million in revenues.
2.2 million marriages take place in the United States annually. That breaks down to more than 6,000 a day.
147,300 marriages are performed in Nevada during 2005. So many couples “tie the knot” in the Silver State that it ranked fourth nationally in marriages, even though it’s total population that year among states was 35th.
The estimated U.S. median ages at first marriage for women and men are 25.3 and 27.1 respectively, in 2005. The age for women rose 4.2 years in the last three decades. The age for men at first marriage is up 3.6 years.
Men and women in northeastern states generally have a higher median age at first marriage than the national average. In Massachusetts, for example, women were a median of 27.4 years old and men 29.1 years of age at first marriage. States where people typically marry young include Utah, where women were a median of 21.9 years and men, 23.9 years.
57% and 60% of American women and men, respectively, are 15 or older and currently married (includes those who are separated).
72%: The percentage of men and women ages 30 to 34 in 2005 who had been married at some point in their lives – either currently or formerly.
4.9 million opposite-sex cohabitating couples maintained households in 2005. These couples comprised 4.3 percent of all households.

Doesn’t Laura look fabulous?! That was my first thought when I met her and it’s still my first thought! I was filled with joy to meet the parents-to-be out in the Texas country for some marvelous maternity portraits. I loved the winter country scenery and even though it was 40 degrees (not kidding!) we made it just in time. You see Laura is currently in labor with the little princess! We wish you smooth and easy labor vibes and will see you this weekend for newborn portraits!!
